ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) commander Brig. Gen. Roel Rodolfo yesterday assumed his new post as Zamboanga peninsula police chief, replacing Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey Masauding who was designated as the Philippine National Police (PNP) director for comptrollers.

In Laguna, Col. Ricardo Dalmacia replaced Col. Gauvin Mel Unos as acting provincial police director, in a simple ceremony at Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba City.

Thirty-seven chiefs of police in Calabarzon were reassigned as part of the first wave of PNP reshuffling in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon provinces.

In Zamboanga, Rodolfo said he was “deeply honored to have been entrusted with the responsibility of steering this region toward a crime-free, safe and secured community” during his assumption speech at Camp Col. Romeo Abendan.

Also given new assignments on Jan. 10 were Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan and Cols. Melvin Napiloy, Elmer Ragay and Randulf Tuaño.

Fajardo, former PNP spokesperson, was designated Central Luzon police director, replacing Maranan who now heads the regional police office in Central Visayas.

Napiloy was named Calabarzon police chief, while Ragay was named AKG commander. Tuaño was assigned to the Office of the Chief PNP.
