MANILA, Philippines — Six senior officials of the Philippine National Police were included in the first major revamp implemented by the PNP for 2025.

PNP public information office chief Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said the reshuffle was enforced to fill key vacancies in its command group and regional offices.

Among those given a new assignment is Lt. Gen. Robert Rodriguez, who was named officer-in-charge of the Office of the Deputy Chief for Operations, the PNP’s third highest post.

Rodriguez took over the post following the retirement of Lt. Gen. Michael John Dubria.

The reshuffle, which took effect on Jan. 4, addressed leadership transitions triggered by the mandatory retirement of several senior PNP officers.

Among them are Brig. Gen. Rodel Nazarro, former director of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in Caraga, and Brig. Gen. Radel Ramos, former director of the Headquarters Support Service.

Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano, formerly from the Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP), replaced Nazarro.

Brig. Gen. Christopher Abecia, who previously served as deputy regional director for administration of PRO Calabarzon, was designated officer-in-charge of AVSEGROUP.

Brig. Gen. Dionisio Bartolome Jr. has been transferred from PRO 11 to PRO 7.

Brig. Gen. Roy Parena, previously assigned to PRO 7, was named acting chief of the Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR).

Brig. Gen. Ramil Montilla has been transferred from the DPCR to acting head of the Headquarters Support Service, succeeding Radel Ramos.

“These major changes were necessary to address key vacancies caused by the mandatory retirements in the PNP,” Fajardo said.
