DA undersecretary Savellano dies
MANILA, Philippines — Agriculture Undersecretary Deogracias Victor Savellano passed away yesterday. He was 65.
President Marcos described Savellano as a “true public servant” and a “dear friend.”
“I am saddened by the passing of DV Savellano whose heart always belonged to the people he served,” Marcos said in a statement.
As governor and representative of Ilocos Sur, Savellano brought progress to the province, the President said.
Marcos said Savellano, his fellow Ilocano, carried the same dedication to his role in the agriculture department, working tirelessly to strengthen the livestock sector and support farmers across the country.
“To his family and loved ones, I offer my condolences. His legacy will endure in the lives he touched and in the progress he brought to Ilocos Sur and the nation,” Marcos said.
The National Tobacco Administration announced the passing of Savellano, husband of actress Dina Bonnevie, in a Facebook post.
