BUSTOS, Bulacan, Philippines — The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) has assured farmers in Bulacan of enough irrigation water allocation from Angat Dam this dry cropping season.
Placida Cordero, NIA-Bulacan manager, said the assurance was given after Angat Dam reached its year-end ideal level of 212 meters, citing a Bulacan provincial disaster risk reduction management office data showing the dam’s water elevation at 213.19 meters as of Jan. 4.
Angat Dam’s irrigation water allocation flows down to Bustos Dam, which distributes the supply to rice lands in Bulacan and Pampanga.
According to Cordero, the first dry cropping season started last Nov. 15 while the second dry cropping season would begin on March 1.
