Party-list group gains popularity

MANILA, Philippines — The party-list group Sulong Mga Batang Quiapo is gaining popularity in the lead-up to the 2025 mid-term elections, a Social Weather Station (SWS) survey indicated.

Ruskin Principe, party spokesman, cited the survey conducted from Dec. 12 to 18 that showed Sulong Mga Batang Quiapo taking the 25th spot with a 1.07 percent voter preference among the 156 party-list groups gunning for a seat in the House of Representatives.

Principe said Sulong Mga Batang Quiapo is advocating for socioeconomic security to market vendors and homeless people in the country.

“We are very happy that more people are supporting the genuine advocacies of truly marginalized sectors, which is what party-list representation should be all about,” said Principe, also one of the group’s nominees.

The SWS survey used face-to-face interviews of 2,097 registered voters nationwide and has sampling error margins of +2.1 percent for national percentages, +5.3 percent for Metro Manila, +3.0 percent for Balance Luzon, and +5.2 percent each for the Visayas and Mindanao.
