ACT-CIS top party-list choice – survey

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support Inc. (ACT-CIS) is leading party-list groups in the voter preference survey conducted by polling firm Tangere.

The poll, conducted from Dec. 10 to 13 using a mobile-based respondent application, found that 15 percent of the respondents will vote for ACT-CIS if the party-list elections were held during the survey period.

Tangere said the group’s primary drivers of votes are from the lower and middle-income respondents in Luzon.

The votes could translate to three seats in Congress, the maximum allowed for a party-list group. ACT-CIS currently has three representatives in the lower chamber.

Five other party-list groups have gained support in the Tangere poll to get two seats each, the firm said.

These include the Pagtibayin at Palaguin ang Pangkabuhayang Pilipino or 4Ps, Duterte Youth Bayanihan, Ako Bicol and Gabriela.

Thirty-eight others may secure at least one seat, including incumbents Tingog, Senior Citizens, Alliance of Concerned Teachers, AGRI and Ako Bisaya as well as newcomers Solid North, FPJ Panday Bayanihan and 1Munti.

According to Tangere, the party-list groups’ advocacies are among the primary factors influencing voter choices.

These include reduction of prices of commodities, policies against corruption in government, creation of more jobs, improvement of services as well as facilities of public hospitals and increasing minimum wage.

The polling firm conducted the survey with 2,400 participants selected using the stratified random sampling method. The results had a margin of error of plus/minus 1.96 percent.
