Domestic workers to get P500 raise

This came after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB)-National Capital Region (NCR) approved the increase.

MANILA, Philippines — Domestic workers in Metro Manila are getting a wage increase of P500 a month.

This came after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB)-National Capital Region (NCR) approved the increase.

The National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) said the NCR wage board has issued Wage Order No. NCR-DW-05, which sets the new monthly minimum wage for kasambahays in Metro Manila.

“The new minimum wage for kasambahays in the region is at P7,000 a month, which is P500 higher than the previous rate,” the NWPC said.

Kasambahays in Metro Manila are currently receiving a monthly salary of P6,500.

“All domestic workers in the NCR are covered by the wage order, regardless of their type of employment, whether live-in or live-out,” the NWPC said.

It added, “No exemptions will be allowed.”

The new monthly minimum wage for kasambahays in Metro Manila will take effect on Jan. 4, 2025.
