House storing illegal firecrackers catches fire
MANILA, Philippines — A two-story house which was used as a storage for illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices caught fire in Barangay Paltok, Quezon City on Monday.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)’s National Capital Region field office said the blaze started at 11:05 a.m. and reached first alarm.
“Illegal firecrackers were stored in the house,” Senior Insp. Rodrigo delos Santos of the Quezon City fire sub-station 1 said.
Firefighters doused the fire at around 12:25 p.m., the BFP said.
Authorities saw illegal firecrackers such as piccolo during mopping-up operations.
The BFP said the fire originated on the ground floor where the firecrackers were stored.
There was no casualty, according to the BFP.
