10 tourism bills OK’d on final reading
MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives has approved on third and final reading measures declaring 10 areas in the country as ecotourism sites and tourist destinations.
The proposals were approved during the House’s plenary session led by Deputy Speaker Antonio Albano on Wednesday.
Among the approved proposal were House Bills (HBs) 11105, 11107 and 11126, which declared the immediate environs of the Nuestra Señora de Salvacion Church, the Batag Lighthouse and the Onay Beach, respectively, as tourism destinations. These areas are located in Laoang, Northern Samar.
House members approved HB 11106, declaring the Pinipisakan Falls in Las Navas in Northern Samar, as a tourism destination.
Another approved measure, the HB 10637, declared Binadlan Falls in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental as an ecotourism site.
HBs 11109 and 11128 declared Siniguelasan Mangroves Park in Bacoor, Cavite and Barangay Rubas in Leyte, respectively, as ecotourism destinations.
The House also approved HB 11125 revising the technical description of foreshore land areas within the Balanga Wetland and Nature Park Ecotourism Zone in Balanga, Bataan.
Other tourism-related measures approved on final reading were HBs 11110 and 11129, which declared Sitio Timoga in Iligan, Lanao del Norte and the Hundred Islands National Park in Pangasinan, respectively, as tourism zones.
