MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested a former Marine who was allegedly involved in a road rage accident in Barangay Central Signal, Taguig on Sunday.
The suspect, identified only as Joseph, 63, allegedly pulled out a gun and threatened two women during a traffic altercation.
The victims, known only as Cath, 42, and Kriz, 19, told probers that the dispute began when they crossed the street, prompting the suspect to honk his horn repeatedly.
The confrontation escalated when the suspect, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, got out of the car, pulled out a gun and threatened to kill the victims.
Responding to an urgent call from concerned citizens, personnel of the Taguig City police substation 6 arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect.
Authorities recovered from the suspect a loaded .45-caliber handgun.
Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang said the suspect is facing charges of violating Republic Act 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Law, and grave threat.
