2 kids, mother die in car accident

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — A mother and her two children were killed when a truck rammed their car late Wednesday in Angat, Bulacan.

Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, Central Luzon police director, identified the mother as Angielyn Herrera and her children Andrie and Sky, six and two years old, respectively.

According to reports reaching his office, Angielyn’s husband John Jovy was driving their car along Gen. Alejo Santos Highway when the truck, driven by John de Castro, had a brake malfunction. The truck started moving backward and then rammed the victims’ vehicle.

Angielyn and her children were pinned inside the vehicle. John Jovy survived the incident with multiple injuries and is recuperating at Norzagaray Public Hospital.

The truck driver was arrested and is facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, serious physical injury and damage to property.
