COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A cash reward of up to P1 million has been offered in exchange for information that leads to the arrest of the assailants of a vice mayoral candidate in South Cotabato.
Rep. Peter Miguel offered the reward for anyone who could help solve the killing of Jose Osorio, chief of Barangay Bukas Pait in Tantangan town.
Osorio was shot multiple times by gunmen who barged into his property on Monday. He was running for vice mayor of Tantangan in the 2025 midterm elections.
Relatives expressed belief the killing was politically motivated.
Villagers said Osorio had no known enemies.
