BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — La Union has been named as the most competitive province in Ilocos region and placed seventh in the nationwide 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index for two consecutive years.
The recognition was given during the “Rimat ti Amianan” ceremony on Nov. 5 and 6 in Candon City, Ilocos Sur.
La Union excelled in four key pillars of competitiveness – economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure and resiliency – and for showing commitment to sustainable development and inclusive progress.
The recognition affirmed La Union’s spot as the seventh most competitive province in the country for two consecutive years.
Gov. Raphaelle Veronica Ortega-David and board member Henry Balbin received the award during the ceremony.
David dedicated the award to her constituents, saying the province’s progress is a testament to the hard work and unity of the people.
