P2 million party drugs seized in Parañaque sting operation

MANILA, Philippines — Authorities seized P2.056 million worth of assorted party drugs from a suspect during a sting operation carried out by the Parañaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit on Tuesday.

Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang identified the suspect as “Kylie,” a 26-year-old alleged high-value drug dealer.

The operation was launched around 5:35 p.m. along Greenheights Avenue in Barangay San Dionisio.

Confiscated during the raid were 141 grams of suspected cocaine valued at P747,300; 153 grams of suspected ketamine worth P765,000; 274 grams of high-grade marijuana (kush) valued at P411,000 and 78 pieces of ecstasy tablets valued at P132,600. 

The drugs have been turned over to the SPD forensic unit for analysis. 

Meanwhile, the suspect is set to face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Drug busts in Quezon City, Marikina

In Marikina, anti-narcotics police confiscated shabu valued at P2.24 million from three suspects on Thursday.

Col. Villamor Tuliao, Eastern Police District director, said 330 grams of shabu were seized from the suspects identified as Calel Dumlao, Amrex Maomin and Jamaira Dumlao during a sting in Barangay Tumana at around 1:30 a.m.

The suspects are detained at the Marikina police station on charges of drug trafficking.

Tuliao said police are tracking down other drug personalities in Marikina.

Meanwhile, around 56.17 grams of shabu with a street value of P381,956 were recovered in Navotas City on Thursday night.

The illegal drugs were seized from alias Jayson and alias Matey, suspected drug pushers who were arrested in a sting in Barangay San Roque at around 11:33 p.m., the Northern Police District said.

In Valenzuela City, police said shabu worth P201,000 was confiscated from suspects identified as alias Rey and alias Nano in Barangay Karuhatan yesterday.

A kilo of shabu valued at P6.8 million was seized from two suspects in Quezon City yesterday.

The suspects, alias Potyok and alias Nell, both 18, were arrested by operatives of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group in a sting in Barangay Sta. Monica at around 12:45 a.m., according to PDEG director Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta.

“This operation underscores our dedication to protecting communities from the destructive impacts of drug abuse,” Matta said in a statement.

Charges of drug trafficking were filed against the suspects, who are detained at the PDEG’s National Capital Region field unit in Taguig.

Meanwhile, around 12 grams of shabu valued at P81,600 were recovered from Russel Orlanda, 24, in Barangay Bagong Silangan at around 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, Quezon City Police District director Col. Melecio Buslig Jr. said.

A confidential informant reportedly tipped off the police about Orlanda’s activities. The suspect was apprehended after he sold P200 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer.

Apart from drug trafficking cases, police are also readying a complaint for illegal possession of a firearm against Orlanda after a .38 caliber handgun was allegedly found in his possession. — Emmanuel Tupas
