MANILA, Philippines — The number of eligible voters for the May 2025 midterm elections has reached almost 69 million, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) reported yesterday.
As of Oct. 31, Comelec Chairman George Garcia said the poll body had registered 68,618,667 voters.
“But the figure is still subject to the removal of double and multiple registrants,” Garcia said.
Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon (Calabarzon) recorded the biggest number of voters with 9,764,170 followed by Central Luzon with 7,712,535.
The National Capital Region listed 7,562,858 voters.
Other vote-rich regions are Central Visayas with 4,407,337 voters and Bicol region with 4,066,662.
Cordillera Administrative Region recorded the lowest number of voters with 1,111,859 and Caraga with 1,889,616.
The Comelec said the number of voters for next year’s elections is higher compared to the 65,745,526 and 67,839,861 registered, respectively, during the 2022 and 2023 elections.
