MANILA, Philippines — Three people, including a suspected gunman, were killed in a series of shooting incidents in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte yesterday morning.
The fatalities were identified as Abdul Rahim Mangundatu, Nasser Halid and alleged gunman Al Rasid Untong.
Reports said the shooting occurred at around 8:30 a.m. at the Old Market Site and in Sitio Cocofed in Barangay Poblacion.
Responding authorities found Mangundatu wounded at the Old Market Site and rushed him to the Datu Odin Municipal Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Reports said Mangundatu was allegedly shot by Untong, who fled toward Sitio Cocofed.
Upon arrival in Sitio Cocofed, Untong allegedly shot Halid, who died instantly.
Police said Untong was also shot and killed by an unidentified gunman, who fled after the shooting.
Probers said they recovered a pistol and ammunition from Untong.
Police expressed belief the pistol was used in the killing of Mangundatu and Halid.
Probers have yet to find witnesses to the incident.
