MARILAO, Bulacan, Philippines — High-grade marijuana with an estimated street value of P46.5 million was seized in separate stings in this province on Saturday.

The first anti-narcotics operation, in Barangay Patubig in Marilao, resulted in the arrest of a drug suspect and seizure of 19 kilos of kush worth P28.5 million, according to the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG).

Another drug bust in Barangay Northville 6 in Balagtas town resulted in the arrest of another suspect and seizure of 12 kilos of marijuana with an estimated value of P18 million, police said.

PNP-DEG chief Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta said the arrest of the suspects and recovery of the kush significantly disrupted drug trafficking in Central Luzon.

“It not only stalled the illegal drug trade, but also made communities safer and healthier. We will continue to monitor and address this kind of illegal trade,” Matta said.
