Dengue cases in Negros Occidental breach 5,000

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Dengue cases in Negros Occidental have reached 5,108, with 15 deaths recorded from January to Oct. 19.

The record is 301.89 percent higher when compared to the cases over the same period last year, which only had 1,271 logged cases.

The top 10 localities with the highest number of dengue cases are Bago City with 560, Hinobaan (404), San Carlos City (394), Sagay City (331), Talisay City (323), Kabankalan City (321), Cauayan (289) and Cadiz City (279).

According to reports of the Provincial Health Office, the dengue-related deaths also rose to 15 over the same period.
