P1.98 million illegal drugs seized in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — Various illegal drugs valued at P1.98 million were seized in an intensified anti-drug campaign in Quezon City in one week, police reported yesterday.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Col. Melecio Buslig Jr. said 291.15 grams of shabu and five grams of marijuana leaves were confiscated in 46 anti-drug operations from Oct. 16 to 23.

Up to 72 drug suspects were also apprehended during the same period. Among these operations was the one conducted in Barangay Teachers Village East on Oct. 23, which led to the seizure of 61 grams of shabu valued at P414,800.

A drug suspect, Norwell Custodio, 36, was arrested in the sting operation at around 3:20 a.m.
