Angat water level good for 2025 summer
MANILA, Philippines — The increase in the water elevation of Angat Dam is timely to ensure enough water supply for the summer of 2025, a ranking official of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) said yesterday.
“The rise in water elevation of the Angat reservoir due to Typhoon Kristine is timely as it is expected to replenish the reservoir in preparation for next summer,” MWSS department manager Patrick Dizon told The STAR.
The water elevation of Angat Dam has improved considerably because of the rains brought by Kristine, reaching 200.30 meter compared to its previous level of 198.45 meters.
It is still 9.70 meters away from its normal high water level of 210 meters.
Angat Dam supplies more than 90 percent of Metro Manila’s potable water needs and provides for the irrigation needs of 25,000 hectares of farmlands in Bulacan and Pampanga.
