MANILA, Philippines — An Army reservist was arrested for indiscriminate firing, nearly killing a man in Tanay, Rizal on Thursday.
The police filed cases for attempted homicide and threats against the suspect, identified only as alias Roderick.
Investigation showed that Roderick appeared drunk in front of a convenience store in Barangay Plaza Aldea when he threatened two people with his .45 caliber handgun, shouting at them to go home.
When a tricycle driver intervened, the reservist fired his gun but missed.
Policemen who were patrolling the area saw the commotion and arrested the suspect.
