MANILA, Philippines — A fire hit a storage room of the Mary Chiles General Hospital and Maternity in Sampaloc, Manila yesterday.
Patients were evacuated after the fire broke out at around 6 a.m.
The stock room was located in a separate building at the hospital’s compound.
The fire reached second alarm before it was doused at around 7:20 a.m., the Bureau of Fire Protection said.
Thirteen firetrucks rushed to the scene. Arson probers said they have yet to establish what caused the fire.
In Tondo, a fire struck a residential area in Barangay 69 yesterday.
No casualties or injuries were reported in the twin fires.
