CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A woman and her partner have been arrested for allegedly engaging in online sexual exploitation of children in Calamba City in this province.

Police rescued the woman’s six-year-old son during the raid in Barangay Pansol on Thursday, according to Lt. Col. Titoy Cuden, Calamba police chief.

Local law enforcement units led by the Department of Justice’s office of cybercrime and members of the Australian federal police conducted the operation against the suspects.

Police seized four phones allegedly used by the suspects to record, livestream and store images and videos of child abuse.

The operation stemmed from a referral from the Australian police following the arrest of a 33-year-old man in New South Wales on Sept. 19.

The suspect identified the woman as the facilitator of the online sexual abuse and exploitation.

The suspect said he paid the woman in US dollars in exchange for materials showing child sexual abuse and exploitation.
