MANILA, Philippines — A retired police officer has reportedly been receiving threats to his life after he noticed motorcycle-riding men following him several times in Cainta, Rizal.

Retired Maj. Gen. Belli Tamayo told the Cainta police that the last time he saw the men was on Saturday afternoon as he was driving along Imelda Avenue toward Marcos Highway in Barangay San Isidro.

Tamayo said two men on a motorcycle tailed his vehicle as he exited a village and drove along Felix Avenue.

The tailing continued until Tamayo stopped at a convenience store and the motorcycle-riding men disappeared.

Tamayo said the incident occurred two or three times, prompting him to alert local authorities.

The Cainta police referred the matter to its intelligence division for further investigation.

Before retiring, Tamayo was deputy director of the area police command in Southern Tagalog.
