President Marcos signs 8 laws creating more court branches

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has signed into law eight measures creating additional court branches in various parts of the country.

The laws were signed on Oct. 17, documents released by Malacañang yesterday showed. 

Republic Act (RA) 12029 provides for the establishment of two additional regional trial court (RTC) branches in the Fourth Judicial Region to be located in Silang, Cavite.

RA 12030 will create three branches of the metropolitan trial court (MTC) in the National Capital Region Judicial Region to be based in Parañaque.

Marcos also signed RA 12031, which will create two more RTC branches in the Second Judicial Region to be located in Cabagan, Isabela.

RA 12032 will establish three RTC branches in the 10th Judicial Region to be located in San Jose, Dinagat Islands.

The same law provides for the creation of two MTC branches of the 10th judicial region to be stationed in the towns of San Jose and Basilisa in the same island-province.

Also signed were RA 12033, which seeks to create a trial court branch in the Eighth Judicial Region to be located in Baybay, Leyte, and RA 12034 for six RTC branches in the Ninth Judicial Region to be based in Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

RA 12035 provides for the creation of three RTC branches in the 10th Judicial Region to be stationed in Valencia, Bukidnon, and RA 12036 for four RTC branches in the Eighth Judicial Region to be located in Tacloban, Leyte.
