CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — A policeman was killed as he and his fellow officers were responding to a robbery incident in Peñaranda, Nueva Ecija before dawn yesterday.
S/Sgt. Jhon Espinoza was declared dead on arrival at the Gapan District Hospital from a gunshot to the head.
Espinosa was among police officers who responded to a robbey in a supermarket in Barangay Poblacion 1, according to Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, Central Luzon police director.
Maranan said the robbers shot the approaching policemen, hitting Espinoza in the head.
