P3.4 million shabu seized in Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines — Police confiscated shabu valued at P3.4 million in Quezon City last Friday afternoon.
The illegal drugs weighing around 500 grams were seized from three persons, who were arrested by operatives of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group in a sting operation at around 1:40 p.m., according to PDEG director Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta.
Matta said the suspects, two men and a woman aged 40 to 44 were apprehended in a hotel in Barangay San Martin de Porres.
The suspects allegedly received bundles of marked money from undercover police officers as payment for the shabu in their possession.
“The high-profile arrests and drug seizures demonstrate our persistent efforts to protect the community from the dangers of illegal drugs,” Matta said in a statement.
The suspects were brought to the PDEG National Capital Region field unit where they are being held on cases of drug trafficking.
Meanwhile, two persons were arrested after they were caught with 57 grams of shabu in Caloocan City yesterday.
Northern Police District director Brig. Gen. Rizalito Gapas said the illegal drugs worth P387,600 were seized from alias Pagare and alias Potyok.
Gapas said the suspects were apprehended in a sting operation along Kaagapay Road in Barangay 188 at around 12:10 a.m.
Anti-narcotics officers brought the suspects to the police station for further investigation.
