CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — At least 163 guns were confiscated during a week of simultaneous operations against loose firearms in Central Luzon.
Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, Central Luzon police director, said the confiscation or surrender of loose firearms was accomplished through a combination of law enforcement initiatives, including the implementation of 16 search warrants and the “Revitalized Katok.”
Maranan said the operations, done by the provincial and city police units in the region, also contributed to the peaceful filing of 3,384 certificates of candidacy in the region.
He attributed the success of the operations to the unwavering dedication of provincial and city police units in ensuring peace and order in communities and the collaborative efforts of partner agencies.
