Cotabato rewards 26 honest tricycle drivers

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Because of their honesty, 26 tricycle drivers in Kabacan town were rewarded P10,000 each by the Cotabato provincial government.

In simple rites at the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) in Kabacan, Gov. Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza said the drivers deserve a reward for promptly returning valuables, including bags containing money and jewelry, to their rightful owners.

“We ought to make them (drivers) feel important for having exemplified honesty in the strictest sense,” Taliño-Mendoza said.

The event was also officiated by Cotabato Rep. Samantha Santos, Kabacan Mayor Evangeline Guzman and USM president Francisco Garcia.
