Police nab human trafficking suspect, rescue 5 minors

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Authorities have arrested a suspected human trafficker and rescued five minors on Thursday in Angeles City.

Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, Central Luzon region police director, said the suspect, identified only as Aira, was arrested after she offered the services of minors to agents of the Regional Anti-Trafficking in Persons Task Group and the Regional Women and Children Protection Desk along McArthur Highway in Barangay Balibago.

The minors, all residents of Angeles City, were provided with immediate assistance, including medical examinations to ensure their well-being, in coordination with the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
