MANILA, Philippines — Illegal drugs and marijuana with an estimated total value of P2.8 million were seized in the cities of Olongapo and Bacolod yesterday.
Anti-narcotics agents seized 10 kilos of marijuana worth P1.5 million from two drug suspects in Barangay Sta. Rita, according to Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan.
The suspects were collared after they sold marijuana to undercover agents along Clark street.
Charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act will be filed against the suspect, Maranan said.
In Negros Occidental, police seized shabu with an estimated street value of P1.39 million during a sting in Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City.
Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, Western Visayas police director, said a suspect, identified as Lando, was arrested after he sold shabu to an undercover agent.
Meanwhile, in Cotabato City, three suspected drug den operators were arrested in a sting on Monday.
The suspects – identified as Batuga, 23; Abdul Eman Kusin, 39, and Norman Pendular, 20 – were allegedly connected to terrorist group Dawlah Islamiya.
Police said the sting in Barangay Poblacion 2 resulted in the seizure of shabu with an estimated street value of P102,000.
The suspects were detained at the facility of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. — John Unson
