MANILA, Philippines — Wage boards in Western Visayas and Zamboanga peninsula will conduct public hearings this month on workers’ petitions for a salary increase.
The peninsula’s Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) will conduct a public consultation tomorrow in Zamboanga City, according to the National Wages and Productivity Commission.
The NWPC said the region-wide wage dialogue intends to gather inputs and feedback from stakeholders on wage-related matters affecting the region.
Participants located outside Zamboanga City may join the dialogue virtually through Facebook Live.
Meanwhile, the RTWPB in Western Visayas will conduct a similar activity on Oct. 10 and Oct. 21.
The expected wage increase will cover workers in private establishments and household helpers in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo and Negros Occidental.
Concerned parties and stakeholders were encouraged to participate in the activity as their inputs and feedback are valuable to the wage board’s deliberations and decision.
