MANILA, Philippines —  A Chinese man wanted for kidnapping fell into the hands of authorities last week, according to the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

Personnel from the BI’s fugitive search unit, the Parañaque City police and law enforcers from China arrested 37-year-old Hu Yang in Barangay Tambo on Sep. 23, the BI said in a statement last Thursday.

Authorities accused Yang, alias Lin Zihao, of being a “member of a kidnapping syndicate that was notoriously known for torturing and killing their victims,” with some of his accomplices arrested by the BI in Metro Manila and Pampanga in separate operations early this year.

The BI noted that Yang already had been ordered arrested by the Public Security Bureau of Jinjiang City in China for kidnapping.

The agency added that Yang, whose passport has been revoked by China, would be under the custody of the Parañaque City police as he is facing a case before a local court.
