Missing man found dead

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A man reported missing for three days was found dead in Rodriguez, Rizal yesterday morning.

The body of Jonathan Añonuevo was found in a sack dumped along the road in Barangay San Isidro.

Añonuevo was last seen on Sunday. He failed to return home, prompting relatives to seek the help of the police.

Lt. Col. Arnulfo Selencio, Rodriguez police chief, said a witness, Sainor Saidamen, told probers that Añonuevo was arrested by a subdivision guard for alleged theft.

Saidamen said the victim was brought to the office of the homeowners’ association, where he was allegedly beaten up by HOA officers.

Investigation is ongoing.
