MANILA, Philippines — Minimum wage earners in Bicol are expected to receive a higher take-home pay after the regional wage board concluded the third public consultation for a salary increase.
The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) conducted the third wage consultation in Masbate.
Representatives from the labor and management sectors participated and shared feedback and inputs during the dialogue, according to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC).
“The consultation has seen an active participation, which is a positive guide for the regional boards in coming up with a new wage order as well as addressing other wage concerns,” the NWPC said.
The dialogue was intended to gather valuable inputs and feedback on pay concerns and evaluate current wage conditions thoroughly.
Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said all RTWPBs are expected to complete their deliberations and come up with new wage orders within the year.
