CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Two people died in a collision involving a motorcycle and a van in Silang, Cavite yesterday.
Police withheld the identities of the fatalities upon the request of their families, according to Lt. Col. Louie Gonzaga, Silang police chief.
The victims were declared dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Tagaytay due to head injuries.
Responding police officers arrested the van driver identified only as alias Armingo following the incident that occurred shortly after midnight along Aguinaldo Highway in Barangay Biga 1.
Gonzaga said the victims, who were on a motorcycle, were headed to their barracks when the van rear-ended them.
The impact threw the driver and his passenger off the motorcycle.
