MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go provided relief and financial assistance to fire victims in Bacoor, Cavite on Friday.
Go led the distribution relief goods to 932 families who lost their homes in a recent fire in Barangay Zapote 3. He was accompanied by Mayor Strike Revilla and other local officials.
“I thank Sen. Bong Go and every one who helped my constituents recover from their losses,” Revilla said during the event.
While handing out food packs, water containers, vitamins, face masks and shirts, Go assured the victims that they were not alone in their struggles.
Select beneficiaries received basket and volley balls, shoes, phones, bicycles and watches.
“I know the difficulties your are experiencing today because of the fire. Don’t lose hope. What matters most is we are together in facing this challenge,” Go said.
He highlighted the importance of improving the country’s disaster response and resilience, noting the Bureau of Fire Protection is undergoing modernization to enhance its capabilities and readiness in responding to fire-related incidents.
He urged residents needing medical attention to seek help from Malasakit Centers at the General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital in Trece Martires City and Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital in Bacoor.
