COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Police agents seized P6.8 million worth of shabu from a dealer entrapped in Barangay Zone IV in Zamboanga City on Saturday, September 7.
The suspect, Husien Arip Tagayan, is now locked in a detention facility of the Zamboanga City Police Office.
Radio reports here on Saturday afternoon stated that Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey Masauding, director of the Police Regional Office-9, has confirmed the arrest of Tagayan after selling to their plainclothes operatives, disguised as drug dependents, a kilo of shabu during a tradeoff along a stretch of the General Vicente Street in Barangay Zone IV in Zamboanga City.
Officials of the Zamboanga City Police Office had told reporters that the 51-year-old Tagayan, who is a resident of Jolo town in Sulu in the Bangsamoro region, was long subject of surveillance, tagged as “high value target” of all police anti-narcotics units under PRO 9.
Masauding said the now detained Tagayan shall be prosecuted for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 using the P6.8 million worth shabu confiscated from him as evidence.
