MANILA, Philippines — Police apprehended three Chinese nationals and four Filipinos who allegedly kidnapped and robbed three foreigners in Parañaque City on Monday.

Initial investigation showed that the suspects broke into a house being rented by the female victims – two Chinese and a Vietnamese – in Multinational Village, Barangay Moonwalk at around 4 a.m., National Capital Region Police Office director Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. told reporters.

Nartatez said three of the suspects are Chinese men: Liu Yujie, 39: Weichun Xu, 35, and Donbo Lyu, 35.

Their alleged Filipino cohorts are Jon Jon Osquiza, 45; Jerico Mamaril, 29; Brian Barado, 33, and Ruel Arenas, 42.

According to Nartatez, the suspects barged inside the house and destroyed closed-circuit television cameras.

The suspects also took the cell phones of the victims’ driver and housemaid to prevent them from calling for help.

The suspects then forced the victims into their getaway vehicle, a white Toyota Alphard minivan.

Authorities tracked down and arrested the suspects at their hideout also in Multinational Village at around 4 p.m.

An investigation is ongoing to establish the suspects’ motive, Nartatez said.

The suspects are detained at the Parañaque police station for documentation.
