MANILA, Philippines — A woman gave birth amid the onslaught of Tropical Storm Enteng in Burdeos, Quezon yesterday.
Members of a search and rescue team from the Bureau of Fire Protection as well as municipal disaster risk reduction and management office (MDRRMO) brought the woman to a hospital located a kilometer away from her residence in Barangay Poblacion.
The team helped the woman onto a stretcher and carried her on foot along flooded streets to the hospital.
Heavy rains spawned by Enteng submerged almost the entire town proper, leaving most of the streets impassable to motorists.
MDRRMO chief Garner Gimenez said relatives sought the help of the municipal government after the woman complained of birth pains.
The woman safely gave birth to a baby boy.
