MANILA, Philippines — The water level of La Mesa Dam in Quezon City dropped to 79.85 meters after it overflowed on Wednesday amid monsoon rains.

As of 8 a.m. yesterday, the level of the dam had decreased by 0.30 meters from its spilling level of 80.15 meters.

Authorities said the water elevation of the reservoir as of 5 a.m. yesterday was 79.89 meters and expected to decrease gradually.

“Water from the dam may no longer affect the low-lying areas along the Tullahan River from Quezon City, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon,” authorities said.
