MANILA, Philippines — Criminal charges were filed against a Thai woman who was arrested last week by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Malate, Manila for alleged medical malpractice.
Saralluck Sathianpeerawat underwent inquest proceedings before the Manila prosecutor’s office for violating Republic Act 2382, otherwise known as the Medical Act.
NBI Director Jaime Santiago said Sathianpeerawat was allegedly conducting medical procedures such as nose lift, botox injection and mesolipo therapy without a license.
Santiago said an NBI agent posed as a client and secured botox procedures for P10,000 from the suspect.
A background investigation on the suspect showed that she does not have a license to practice medicine in the Philippines, he said.
