Traders shot dead by rival

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Two business people were shot dead allegedly by their rival following a spat in Mabitac, Laguna on Tuesday.

William Talisik and his partner, Margie Serrano, died at the scene of the incident that occurred in Barangay Nanguna, according to Maj. Gerry Malipol, town police chief.

Malipol identified the suspect as Isagani Hiyas, allegedly a rival of the victims in their handicraft business.

Aside from business rivalry, probers are eyeing an old grudge as the motive for the killing.
