NBI nabs Leyte town mayor’s brother for murder

San Isidro, Leyte, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation arrested the brother of San Isidro town mayor Remedio Veloso for the murder of former municipal administrator Levi Mabini in 2019, the NBI Region 8 confirmed.

NBI Director Jaime Santiago presented suspect Emmanuel “Wing-Wing” Veloso to the regional trial court in Quezon City, which issued the warrant of arrest.

Santiago commended the NBI-8 for tracking and arresting Veloso who went into hiding after the crime.

Director Santiago lauded the NBI-8, for tracking down the subject and assured the public that the NBI will be relentless in tracking down criminals who are hiding from the law.
