MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Ombudsman has ordered the reinstatement of Bohol Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado and 30 other officials to their respective positions.

The order dated July 31, in effect, lifted the six-month preventive suspension imposed by the anti-graft office in connection with the Captain’s Peak Resort fiasco.

It was not immediately known why only 31 of the 69 officials charged with conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service, grave misconduct and gross neglect of duty were ordered reinstated to their posts.

Aumentado, who also chairs the Regional Development Council in Central Visayas, said he is yet to receive a copy of the ombudsman order.

Among those ordered reinstated are Mayors Antonino Jumawid of Batuan, Elizabeth Pace of Catigban, Eugeniano Ibarra of Clarin, Dionisio Neil Balite of Valencia, Michael Doria of Sierra-Bullones and Norman Palacio of Bilar.

Aumentado said Mayors Conchita delos Reyes of Carmen and Restituto Suarez III of Sagbayan and 36 other officers remain under suspension.

Also ordered to return to their posts are vice mayors Simplicio Maestrado Jr., James Diolan, Ian Bernadez, Emmanuel Jumawid, Maria Jala, Flaviano Pacatang, Rolando Pataca, Gerardo Salces, Eugene Cabrera and Ricardo Francisco Toribio.
