Pasig flood victims get aid

The city government distributed financial assistance to 1,500 families from the three barangays who are temporarily sheltered in 11 evacuation centers.

MANILA, Philippines — The Pasig City government has distributed food packs and P5,000 financial assistance for each family affected by last week’s flood brought by rains caused by Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon.

Government personnel went from house to house in Barangays Manggahan, Santolan and Rosario and distributed 4,500 food packs.

The city government distributed financial assistance to 1,500 families from the three barangays who are temporarily sheltered in 11 evacuation centers.

“The distribution of financial assistance and food packs is part of the city government’s response and recovery efforts,” the Pasig public information office said.

The city government also distributed financial assistance to 700 families from Barangay Maybunga and Dela Paz who are temporarily sheltered in evacuation centers.
