MANILA, Philippines — A public consultation on the possibility of adjusting the minimum wage in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) will be held this month, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board announced yesterday.
In an advisory, the RTWPB-Calabarzon said the consultation would be held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 8 on the second floor locator’s hall of the First Cavite Industrial Estate administration office in Dasmariñas City.
The regional wage board said the consultation aims to obtain comprehensive feedback from the employers and workers to “ensure the formulation of fair and effective wage policies for Calabarzon.”
The RTWPB urged all stakeholders to take part in the public consultation.
The Calabarzon wage order has the nearest anniversary date next to the National Capital Region.
The last wage order in Calabarzon took effect on Sept. 24, 2023.
The wage order granted an increase of P35 to P50 in the daily pay of workers in the region.
This brought the daily minimum wage in the region to P385 to 520 for the non-agriculture sector, P385 to P479 for the agriculture sector and P385 for retail and service establishments employing not more than 10 workers.
