MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has closed its extension office in Cainta in Rizal after the facility sustained severe damaged from flooding last week.

LTO chief Vigor Mendoza said the extension office would be closed until a temporary relocation site will be opened to resume operations.

He cited a report by Calabarzon LTO regional director Elmer Decen that said 80 percent of the facility's equipment was damaged and 90 percent of records soaked in floodwaters during the onslaught of Typhoon Carina and the monsoon-induced rains.

Decen also reported all computers used for examinations were damaged and that parts of the engraving machine were drenched.

Mendoza said clients, in the meantime, can transact at nearby LTO satellite and extension offices.
