P8.16 million shabu seized in Cebu

MANILA, Philippines — Police seized 1.2 kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, worth P8.16 million, in Liloan town in Cebu late Thursday.

Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, Central Visayas police director, said the illegal drug was recovered from a 21-year-old man during a sting in Barangay Yati.

“In the past weeks, a series of arrest of drug peddlers and confiscation of huge amounts of illegal drugs were again initiated by Police Regional Office 7 police units,” Aberin said in a statement.

A complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is readied against the suspect.
