MANILA, Philippines — A 46-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing to death a senior citizen in Quezon City on Wednesday night.
Jaime Layson was apprehended by operatives of the Quezon City Police District after he reportedly killed Jose Repollo, 67, in front of a neighborhood store in Barangay Apolonio Samson at around 8:45 p.m.
A witness told police investigators he saw the suspect repeatedly stabbing the victim with a bladed weapon.
Bystanders brought the victim to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at around 8:50 p.m.
Police and barangay public safety officers arrested Layson in a follow-up operation.
The motive for the killing is under investigation.
